1. Why doesn't my garage door close?back to top
You must first check to make sure the power cord is still securely plugged into an outlet. If this is so then make sure the photo sensors are not blocked by any object and that they are aligned to each other.

2. Where are my photo sensors?back to top
They are located at the bottom just outside the garage door tracks about 4" to 8" off the floor.

3. How do I disengage the electric operator in case of a power failure?back to top
If you pull down on the release cord (usually red) it will release the door. If you pull this cord down and to the rear of the garage it will leave the door in a permanently manual mode. If you pull the cord towards the front of the garage and then press the wall button the door will reengage when the carriage and chain mesh.

4. What can I use to lubricate my garage door?back to top
Any oil based spray lubricant is good such as "WD-40". These can be found in any hardware store.

5. Does my remote control and key pad have a battery?back to top
Yes. In the key pad it is usually located in a compartment just below the number pad and in the remote control it is located inside the housing.

6. My garage door does not close and the light on the motor blinks. What is wrong?back to top
The photo sensors are either blocked by some object or they are not aligned or pointing towards one another. If the space between them is clear you should try to align the glass lenses so they are looking directly across to each other.

7. What is wrong when the control panel / wall button flashes?back to top
The lock button has been depressed. This button stops the remote controls from working. If you press and hold the lock button for two (2) seconds this will deactivate the lock button. The light on the wall button will stop blinking and the remotes will commence working.

8. What type of maintenance do I need on my garage door and electric operator?back to top
Twice a year you should disengage the garage door from the electric operator and work the door by hand to make sure the door works free and easy and that it does not bind during its complete cycle up and down. At this time you should also lubricate all moving parts on the door (pulleys, rollers, hinges, etc.) with any oil based spray lubricant. NEVER USE GREASE ON ANY GARAGE DOOR PARTS. The electric operator does not need any lubrication.

9. How do I program my remote control?back to top
You must locate the "learn button" on the motor in the middle of the garage. The color of this button can be either green, yellow, red, or purple and round or square. Press this button down once (do not hold down for any length of time) and then press the button on the remote control. The light on the motor unit in the middle of the garage will flash once to signify that programming is successful.

10. How do I program my keypad?back to top
You find the "learn button" (see question #9) and press once. You will then have thirty (30) seconds to walk over to the key pad, slowly enter the four (4) numbers that you wish to program and then press and hold the enter button for two (2) seconds. The light on the motor unit in the middle will flash once to signify that programming is successful.

11. How do I erase codes already programmed into my remote control or my keypad?back to top
You must locate the "learn button" (see question #9). This time you will hold down this button for eight (8) seconds. This will erase all codes previously entered, including all the remote controls, the "Homelink" in your car and the key pad.

12. How do I program my "Homelink" in my car?back to top
Please refer to the programming instructions in your car's manual for these instructions. Note that there are different instructions for regular programming (older models) and "rolling code programming" (newer models).

13. When should I call for garage door service?back to top
It is preferable to get a service call once a year so that the technician can inspect all the hardware associated with your garage door to ensure safe operation. However this timetable might increase or decrease according to usage.
